Final Project

Well, I guess I will give illustrating my childrens book another try since the pop-up book didn't work out so well. I am going with what I know best and that is illustrating works in photoshop. All together the story is about 7pgs long in a word document, I am not sure how many pages it will be in storybook form. From what I have seen in children's books is that they are rather short and to the point usually. The page layouts and backgrounds will most likely be simple in order to save time on this project.

WIP Beach Scene

Work in Progress beach scene. This has to be THE biggest canvas I have ever worked on. As you can see, it takes up two easels in the left pic. The right pic is just a detail pic. There is a lot of things I have to figure out here, like how to connect the beach with the ocean and how to make better clouds lol

My Idea for Opra Scene

My idea for my scene "Amahl and the Night Visitors" "From Far Away We Come" is to do a speed paint on photoshop. I will create characters of my own design and base them from the scenes in this video :

http://youtu.be/IEnnYfI3VVw

The speed paint will generally be like the videos from NeonDragon I have posted a few times before, although it will be much faster.

Poster Design

My poster design for the Texas State Fair. I ment for it to be informational but I think I may have taken it a little too far...I should have probably stuck to a picture collage.

Texas State Fair

I will be making a poster design for the Texas State Fair. I have never been yet and I hope that I will be able to this year. I feel that, as a Texan I should create a piece for my home state. I think this is the perfect idea.

Here is a few poster designs that inspire me for this project.

In addition to this project here is a link to a tutorial on how to make a simple poster design in Photoshop.

Magazine Spread Assignment

This is a magazine spread I created in InDesign using the vector portrait I made of Tom Cruise. The article I found at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0985699/plotsummary

FoxyWolf Icon Logo

My new name logo I did a few weeks back. Its simpler than the blog logo I have up but I made it to where this small one relates to the blog. For recognizable reasons.
This is my character FoxyWolf she stands to be my personal mascot. Her colors were chosen to stand out from all the rest, besides who else do you know who has a purple wolf?

Derekson

My character Derekson the fox-wolf. I was trying to find my style in photoshop at this point and I realized that I went a little too far. Trying to distinguish every little tiny hair was not working for me. However I did find my own style.

The 3rd and final video of the Neon Dragon's Arcanist piece.

My Vector portrait of Tom Cruise from Valkyrie. I was a little more loose with this one than I was with my self-portrait. And I think that this one is a little more detailed than the other one. I like this one better.

This is the image I used to create the vector portrait.

New Painting Mylie and Tynleigh

Just finished yesterday! A painting for my cousin and her new baby and her other daughter :) theres a few white paint splatters all over the painting that I thought made it look like it was shining. Unfortunately the glare on my camera deluded them so you cant see them. But I assure you they are there!

Arcanist Flat Colors

Watch live streaming video from neondragonart at livestream.com

This is the second part of the Arcanist image. This involves using a simple technique of placing colors you want your character to have. No shading or highlighting involved.

Vector Self-Portrait

This is my vector self-portrait that I made in Adobe Illustrator. The background is simple because I, myself, am detailed. I chose the star shapes to relate to my self-portrait. I think it looks great for my first one, although, I feel like I am a little flat. If I had spent more time on it I think I could have made myself more 3D or what have you.

NeonDragon's Arcanist Inks Video

This is a video of one of my favorite artists "NeonDragon" Jessica Peffer. The video features an inking process that she uses for her own artwork primarily in Photoshop CS3. She is kind enough to show her viewers her artwork tecniques, sometimes live, on video so please don't plagiarize her. Her site is listed on my favorite sites to the right.

For my classmates who are thinking of going into design or simply just computer art :3

Apofiss Art "Hello You"

This image inspires me not only because of its subject matter but that of its expression and movement. See the emphasis of the clarity of the eyes. The viewer focuses on this first. Then, the color of the eyes lead us out toward the ears, the nose and the mouth. Which then leads us down the rest of the body. The sketchiness of the light and dark of the paintbrush gives the subject its fluffiness, this is what inspires me the most. I feel like I could reach out and touch him. This is what I would like to accomplish for drawing or painting my animals.

I found this image on Deviant Art. The artists name is Apofiss and here is a link to this image and her other art. http://http//apofiss.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d425uzk
